AI Policy
Your brand is built by a human designer, and this policy explains where AI fits into our work and what we ask of you in return. Last updated: October 15, 2026.
Our approach
Strategy, creative direction, and design decisions at What the Hex Design Studio are led by a person. A brand should be unique and unmistakably yours, and that takes judgment, taste, and a real understanding of your business and your audience.
Where we do not use AI
- We do not use generative AI to create your logo, illustrations, patterns, or brand photography.
- We do not use AI-generated graphics in ads or marketing materials we design for you.
- We do not use AI in place of the strategy conversations and research that shape your brand.
Where we may use AI
We may use AI tools as support for [administrative and productivity tasks such as brainstorming, outlining, editing, summarizing notes, and organizing project information]. AI does not replace our creative direction, and no AI output is delivered to you without human review and editing.
Your information and AI tools
We do not enter logins, payment details, or signed contracts into AI tools, and we use tools or settings that do not train on our inputs.
What we ask of you
Brand work is a collaboration, so your voice matters most.
- Give feedback in your own words. Feedback, approvals, and strategy answers should come from you, not from AI-generated responses.
- Tell us if you share AI-generated materials. If any logos, images, or copy you send us were created with AI, let us know up front. Content made entirely by AI may not be eligible for copyright or trademark protection, which matters for a brand you want to own.
- Share only what you have the right to use. Please send us only materials you created or are licensed to use.
Questions about AI in your project
If you want to know how AI was or was not used in your project, ask and we will answer honestly.
